Grade X1
Description of Product:
Grade X1 heavy has the same extremely low carbon (typically less than .008% carbon), and low manganese (typically less than .15% manganese) as Grade U cp and Grade U. Like Grade U thin plate and Grade U cut plate, it is an excellent source of iron units for the production of all stainless steel grades especially type L grades in air and vacuum melt induction furnaces. Grade X1 heavy standard size is 4” x 5” x 8” blocks but can also be supplied in larger or smaller blocks. Grade X1 heavy blocks provide excellent coupling in induction furnaces to improve melting efficiency and reduce melt times. Like Grade U cut plate, Grade X1 chemistry is heat certified. Also Grade X1 can be supplied shot blasted if required.
