409 MODIFIED

Induction Iron’s chrome 409 Modified melt stock is available as a 1/2 inch thick punching. It is thoroughly washed and dried resulting in material that is free of any oil and contamination resulting in less smoke when melting and reduced inclusions and porosity in the resulting castings. Our 409 modified is a great source of chrome units with a small percentage of nickel as well as an ultra low carbon (< 0.01). All of our stainless melt stock is guaranteed to meet industry standards and our published specification.

TYPICAL CHEMISTRY

We have our own spectrometer in house and test our material methodically to ensure exacting specifications. Our loads are heat certified.

Typical sizing for 409 MOD is punchings 6 inches in width and down and 1/2 inch thick. 

SHIPPING

409 MOD can ship in covered 55 gallon steel drums and gaylord boxes.
